The next FLRC group run is this Saturday, June 13, starting at the Taughannock Falls Overlook, hosted by @scottpdawson and @amy-dawson. We will meet at the Taughannock Falls Overlook at 8:30am and run at 8:45am. We’ll run Taughannock’s rim and base trails, which will take about 45-60 minutes depending on your pace. Or, hike the rim trail (omitting the base trail) for an hour-long option.
Extend your morning with socialization, a delicious breakfast, and coffee/tea at Amy and Scott’s home (5 minutes away at 113 Larchmont in Trumansburg). Anyone who’d enjoy an outdoor sauna or cold plunge is welcome to bring a sauna apparel/swimsuit and towel, too.
Please vote in the poll below so others can get a sense of who else will be running their pace. We always have a wide range of runners, so you’ll generally find someone to run with.

Everyone is welcome, regardless of age, ability, pace, or hair color. This is a free activity, and while FLRC membership and FLRC Challenge participation are encouraged, neither is required. If you’re not running the Challenge, please sign the FLRC Training Programs waiver. You only need to sign once for all 2026 workouts and group runs, so if you’ve already done so, you’re all set. Subscribe to FLRC’s Races and Group Runs calendars so race dates, group runs, and other club events flow into your calendar.
Shamless plug here… After the run and breakfast come on down to the waterfront at Taughannock for the Get Outdoors & Get Together event! The goal is to promote adaptive and accessible recreation opportunities. Organizations from all over the area will be there demonstrating and allowing folks to try out their adaptive equipment (I’ll be there with the Action Track Chairs from Lime Hollow and Cornell Outdoor Education will adaptive climbing and biking equipment). 2026 Flyer (2).pdf (5.6 MB)
We will have regular and decaf coffee, some tea options, and orange and grapefruit juice, along with a breakfast sausage casserole. Folks should feel free to bring anything they’d like to add – be it fruit, bagels, or other pastries – but the most important part is to just bring yourself! We are really looking forward to this!
What great fun! At least 38 people for the group run at Taughannock, and many enjoying the deck party at our home afterward with sauna, cold plunge, cornhole, and plenty of good conversations. If you have additional photos of the event (I saw @jonlewis and @amy-dawson taking some), we’d love to see them! Just upload to our shared album.
