The next FLRC Challenge group run is this Saturday, 10/17, to take on the FLRC Challenge 8.2-mile Black Diamond Trail course in Ithaca. We will meet by the bike repair station under the small pavilion by the trailhead on Turtle Lane at 8:30am and run at 8:45am. Park in the Children’s Garden lot. The temperature is going to take a significant dip overnight Friday, so dress accordingly.
Even if you are not participating in the Challenge, or maybe don’t want to run 8 miles, you can still join by going out just a little bit (a few miles or 30 minutes) and coming back. Don’t let the Challenge or the “intended distance” be a deterrent!
I am unsure if the new bathroom facilities are open yet, but there should be portoloos by the Children’s Garden.
Upcoming weekend group runs:
- 10/31: Halloween costume run
- 11/7 or 11/8 (weather depending): Dryden Lake Lollipop Challenge course, 13 miles
There will be post-run snacks, so please RSVP below so we can plan food quantities. There will be people at various paces, and if you need a ride or have any questions, just reply to this post.

Everyone is welcome, regardless of age, ability, pace, or hair color. This is a free activity, and while FLRC membership and FLRC Challenge participation are encouraged, neither is required. If you’re not running the Challenge, please sign the FLRC Training Programs waiver. You only need to sign once for all 2026 workouts and group runs, so if you’ve already done so, you’re all set. Subscribe to FLRC’s Races and Group Runs calendars so race dates, group runs, and other club events flow into your calendar.
