The next FLRC group run is this Sunday, 8/23, to take on the FLRC Challenge 11-mile Ludlowville Loop course. We will meet at the start/finish at Ludlowville Park at 8:00am and start at 8:15am. Parking is limited, so consider arriving a little bit earlier and parking at the fishing access point 0.2 of a mile (and a bit of a hill) away. Reply here to coordinate shuttling if needed and consider carpooling.
This group run will be hosted by @johnhummel22. Stick around after the run to socialize at the park with some snacks and beverages. There is a pavilion and picnic tables but there are no bathrooms at the park. You can find them at the Lansing High School Track which you will run right by at about mile 10 (a mile away from the park). Of course, we cannot guarantee they will be open as they are operated by the high school.
Please vote in the poll below so others can get a sense of who else will be running their pace. We always have a wide range of runners, so you’ll generally find someone to run with.

Thanks for the question, Michelle! They’ve been on Sundays lately simply due to scheduling. This weekend we have the fascia release workshop on Saturday and didn’t want each event to compete with the other. Last weekend Sunday was the better option for the host. The weekend before we had a trail race the preceding Wednesday so wanted to give folx some time to recover before hitting the 7-mile pretty tough trail course (and when scheduling I thought the previous weekend’s group run was going to be on Saturday). The weekend before that Trackapalooza was rescheduled to Saturday, so even though our intention was to have the group run on Saturday, we had to move it to Sunday–though there was a Monster preview group run on that Saturday.
In the spirit of accessibility and equity, we have been very aware of trying to alternate weekend days for group runs, and have also been trying to be equal between the weekend days for our weekend races as well.
Due to cross country coming up soon, of which the meets take place on Sundays, you should be seeing more Saturday group runs. We just haven’t scheduled past Monster, which is Sunday the 30th. I anticipate the next group run will be Saturday, September 5.
I hope this helps explain why we seem to have been favoring Sunday group runs when in reality we just had to be flexible with how schedules were changing.
Thanks Heather, very detailed explanation! I’ve been teaching yoga on Sundays so that’s why I was asking. I don’t get to many group runs as I’m lazy in the mornings but hoping to do so again.
I hope you are well
Michelle
