FLRC Challenge kickoff group run on Saturday, 4/19 at 8:30 AM at the Cornell Arboretum (Fall Creek Trails)

Recruit your friends, put on your running shoes, and join us on the FLRC Challenge kickoff group run on the Fall Creek Trails course!

Neither FLRC membership nor FLRC Challenge participation is required, but we’re confident you’ll sign up once you hear from others how much fun the Challenge is. This photo was from last year’s big kickoff run.

Meet Saturday, 4/19, at the parking area in the bowl of the F. R. Newman Arboretum in the Cornell Botanic Gardens at 8:30 AM to run the new 5.4-mile Fall Creek Trails course (check the course page for a Google Map pin and RunGo directions, which are easiest to set up at home). After the usual milling, introductions, and explanation of how to time Challenge runs (make sure to download the Webscorer app and log in using your Webscorer account at home), we’ll aim to start around 8:45 AM.

Please vote in the pace poll below so others can get a sense of who else will be running their pace. We always have a wide range of runners, so you’ll generally find someone to run with.

Pace Poll
  • Sub-8:00-minute pace
  • 8:00-9:00-minute pace
  • 9:00-10:00-minute pace
  • 10:00-11:00-minute pace
  • 11:00-12:00-minute pace
  • 12:00-13:00-minute pace
  • 13:00-minute+ pace
  • I plan on hiking

Everyone is welcome, regardless of age, ability, pace, or anything else. If you haven’t yet signed up for the Challenge, please sign the FLRC 2025 Training Programs waiver. You only need to sign once for all 2025 group runs, so if you’ve already done so, you’re all set—check here.)

Let’s try to reduce the number of car trips to fight climate change. Vote if you need a ride or can give one, and post a reply below with meetup ideas.

Hi Adam,

I was about to sign up for the Summer FLRC Challenge, and as an FLRC member, I understand that the registration fee should be $50. However, it appears that the system is not calculating the fee correctly—it’s currently showing $0 at checkout.

I’ve attached a screenshot for your reference. Could you please take a look and verify?

Thank you for your help!

Have a great day,
Shanthi.

Hi Shanthi! You are using the financial consideration coupon to drop it down to $0. To obtain the membership discount to $50, there is a question asking if you are an FLRC member with a radio button for yes or no. Change the radio button to yes, and it will calculate it to $50, no coupon code required. This is how it works to obtain the membership discount for all our races with registration in Webscorer.

Hi Heather,

Last time, also, I did so. Now, I did so again. Same problem. I attached the screenshots for reference.

Have a great day,
Shanthi.

If you have both the member “yes” radio button selected and the discount code in the box, the discount code will override the radio button.

Remove the discount code from the box and click the green calculate button again to recalculate it correctly to $50.

Thank you, Heather!!

I registered.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday,
Shanthi.

Wonderful! See you out there!

Is it necessary to purchase a Webscorer subscription to use the app? Just wondering if there is a free option before I pay $

No, you can use the Webscorer app for free. The Pro subscription is only necessary if you’re timing actual races. I’ve updated the Timing page to make this more clear.

If the gates to the Arboretum are closed, park at Flat rock at Forest Home.
