The next FLRC group run is this Saturday, 11/2, in Varna on the Cayuga Trail at Monkey Run, hosted by @steve-desmond. We will meet at the Cornell Garden Plots on Freese Rd. at 8:30am and run at 8:45am, parking in the lot across the road. There will be bananas, bagels and cream cheese, and apple cider for refueling after the run!
Note that the Freese Rd. bridge from Varna is still closed, so our start location is only accessible from the north, via Hanshaw Rd.
The northeast end of the trail (grassy clearing next to Rt. 13) is about 3 miles away, so if anyone expects to make it all the way there and back in less than an hour and want to keep going, you can either extend to the west of our start location at the end of your run, towards Piglet Corner, or if you know where you’re going, you could also add on mid-run following the red blaze section down to the water around the 2 mile mark.
Details: This is an out-and-back run, following the orange blazes of the Cayuga Trail. The standard run is an hour (30 minutes out, 30 minutes back), which allows everyone to start together and end together. Please vote in the poll below so others can get a sense of who else will be running their pace. We always have a wide range of runners, so you’ll generally find someone to run with.

You only need to sign the waiver once for all 2024 group runs, so if you’ve already signed it, you’re all set—check here.
