For this 8K run, we’ll be previewing the intriguing new course that @JesseKoennecke has set for our home meet on November 15 @pgxc-flrc @pgxc-high-noon. We’ll gather at 9:00 AM in Lower Treman’s North Shelter parking lot as shown on the map below. The nearby bathrooms should be open. There is a $10 per-car parking fee. If you need a ride or can offer one, please say so in the comments to this post. (You could also park for free in the Lick Brook parking area used for the Challenge – it’s the “Finger Lakes Trail Parking at the lower right of the map; do this only if you know the way to run into the park.)
We’ll warm up, discuss the route, and be ready to run at 9:15.
The course begins the same as last year, with a long, thin oval on the flat field by the parking lot (see map below). It then crosses the park road, goes behind the fenced cow field, takes a sharp right, and ventures into woods and fields on (mostly) dirt and mowed grass. The trails are not technical, though there is a woodchuck hole to watch for as you run part of the way around the cow field. When we ran the course last week, the grass was recently mowed.

To compete in the final race of the series – our Treman home meet this year is the final race – you must have already run at least one race in the series, so sign up for at least two races, and we’d love to see you at all of them. The Syracuse/Genesee course is notably nice, and we’ve always loved the scenic Mendon Ponds courses.
