The Skunk Cabbage Classic 10K and Half Marathon brings hundreds of runners together to celebrate spring in the best way possible—a huge race, beginning at Barton Hall on the Cornell campus and coursing into the warming countryside. You may even see an elusive skunk cabbage sprout. The registration fee goes up on March 9, so register this weekend to save money and get the snazzy shirt in your preferred size.
This year’s race celebrates its 43rd running—and because 43 is a prime number, our theme is Skunktimus Prime. Inspired by the iconic leader of the Transformers, our skunk mascot has morphed into a towering running robot for 2026, complete with comic styling and a rallying cry for everyone: RUNBOTS, ROLL OUT!
To help you train for race day, we have a few more weeks of Sunday Skunkday group runs, which begin at Cornell’s Barton Hall at 9:00 AM on Sundays. The group typically has several dozen runners who break out into small pods at different paces and distances. You can preview the exact race course or try a variation—the Skunk Cabbage area has many excellent routes. See the Group Runs category on the FLRC Forum for details; the Sunday, March 8 run is posted.
Whether you sign up to race or register to volunteer, we look forward to seeing you on race morning!
