It’s going to be really hot on Tuesday, so if you’re sensitive to the heat, run in the morning and skip this workout.
For those who do want heat training, we’ll do short 400m pickups (starting and ending under the big trees near the road for shade), followed by a longer recovery loop that goes past the splashpad. I’ll explain more at the workout. Bring a water bottle, and there are drinking fountains at the park. With luck, Theo Milano will come to play too, so we can pretend we’re all related to him while running through the splashpad.
I’ll also have cold watermelon again for everyone to share after the workout. Speaking of food, mark your calendars since we’ll have our final Stewart Park workout potluck on Tuesday, July 28.
As always, all are welcome, though you should be running enough that 3–4 miles isn’t a problem. We meet at the bocce pits near the big pavilion starting at 6:15 PM, with warmups starting at 6:25 PM. Everyone needs to sign the waiver once for 2026, and if you’re coming regularly, be an FLRC member (there’s a free option).
