Let’s try this again! After having to cancel last week’s kickoff Sunday Skunkday run due to extreme cold, we’re going to take another crack at it. After you sign up for the Skunk Cabbage Classic 10K and Half Marathon, you can get your long runs in with amiable company every Sunday from February 15 through race day on March 29.
Everyone is welcome, even if you’re not an FLRC member or planning to run Skunk (but really?). Regardless, you must sign the FLRC Training Programs waiver once for 2026.
Meet inside the front doors of Barton Hall (facing Teagle Hall, where Skunk starts) at 9:00 AM and be ready to run at 9:15. Since the February Flash Dash track meet will be starting at 9:00 AM too, please stay off the track so as not to impede the runners.
Thanks to Dirk Swart for greeting people, taking a group photo, and helping set up the rough pace/distance groups while I’m busy directing the track meet! Once the groups have formed, you’ll run out east of the Cornell campus on the Skunk course and nearby roads and trails. People tend to break out into pace groups and distances that match training goals and weather conditions. In addition to the full 10K and half-marathon Skunk courses, there is great running on a wide variety of routes.
