It was a somewhat quiet week, @Challengers, although congratulations are due to Keith Eggleston and Leo Chang, both of whom claimed their medals after completing 10 courses. There was also some movement at the top of the leaderboard, where 2025 champion Chris Petroff took over the top spot of Most Points for men, with Columbia Warren holding onto second, and Nico Huber moving into third. Will anyone unseat Chris, however briefly? Caitlin Loehr also took over third place in Community Stars, bolstered by a few runs with Jamie Loehr.
In terms of overall miles, we’re now at 12,683, and it’s fascinating to see how evenly the Personal Challenge courses are being run, though Thom B has the most miles thanks to the May race, and Lakefront Loops 5K isn’t far behind because it’s so convenient. Black Diamond Trail and Sights of the Heights remain the most popular Classic Challenge courses, with Beebe Lake not too far behind.

Beebe Lake course remains closed through Sep 4: From what I hear, you can’t run on the north side of Beebe Lake at all, so I recommend running Cornell Scenic Circuit—the Fall Creek Trails course is also impacted by the Beebe Lake Foot Bridge closure.

Monster Marathon and Half Marathon on Sunday: It’s a great race and I encourage everyone who likes to run long on trails to do it—you can sign up through midnight tonight—but if you want to submit your half marathon time for the Freeville Fly-In half marathon course, note that you’ll need to submit your watch time, not the official Monster race time that comes with age- and gender-graded head starts.

Dryden Lake Lollipop group run Saturday: If you’re not running Monster (or are a total mileage monster), Tonya Engst is organizing an informal Dryden Lake Lollipop run Saturday at 3:45 PM in Dryden, with Dryden Creamery ice cream afterward.

Photos of the week: Pete Kresock shared some serious scenery from a dirt track in Leadville, Colorado, where he was volunteering and pacing at the famous Leadville 100. Andrew Flyak recorded a Sights of the Heights effort in the Philly 10K while showing off his new High Noon racing jersey. And Hank Duarte and Mrs. Hank had a good time on Treman Trailipop.
