Update #6 for the 2026 FLRC Challenge

A wet weekend kept our miles down last week, but late-submitted runs from previous weeks boosted the previous week to a record 821 miles. If you’ve been running the courses but putting off submitting them because it’s new and scary, rest assured that entering runs directly on the leaderboard on a phone or computer is much easier than before, plus you can adjust the date and time when submitting. If you make a mistake, it’s easy to edit or delete entries from your Athlete page’s Activity Log. See the Timing page for full instructions.

Other things to mention:

  • Shirt order placed: I’ve submitted the shirt order to USA Racing, and they should be in within the next 6 weeks. I did order a few extra in common sizes, so those who register late may still be able to order. If you have already registered and realize you do want a shirt, you can edit your registration (log in to Webscorer if necessary) to add one. It’s a great way to ensure you have a yellow shirt for the Winter Chill yellow race.

  • First mud, last un-run course: Props to Patrick Milano, who’s not normally a down & dirty trail runner, for breaking in the Blueberry Patch course in the Finger Lakes National Forest (it’s on the Finger Lakes 50s course). That was the last of the 44 courses to receive a run.

  • Mulholland Waterfalls group run Saturday: This weekend’s group run is another short course, partially for the selfish reason that I’m holding myself to runs under 5 miles right now and I want to play too. Join us Saturday at 9 AM!

  • Other weekend races: Good luck to everyone racing Cayuga Trails or Lucifer’s Crossing this weekend! Whatever you run at Lucifer’s Crossing, you can submit for the Challenge: the 5K goes to Lakefront Loops, the 10K to Sights of the Heights, and the half marathon to Freeville Fly-In. Remember that we need a brief race report for external races!

  • Photos of the week: Dennis Stadelman gets this one for our first far-flung Sweet 1600 of the year from Auburn, CA, (now on the Sweet 1600 Map) and for getting a selfie with ultramarathon legend Ann Trason, who did a 100-mile looped-course ultra with a walker (due to rheumatoid arthritis).

I also loved seeing Barbara Coon and Marie Fitzsimmons with Taughannock in the background.

Until next week, keep covering the ground!

Adam, how do I get the FLRC discount for Twilight. Run Signup does not have that option.
