Week #4 of 19 2025 Recap

Happy Friday! We’ve completed our first month of the FLRC Challenge, notching over 500 runs and almost 2,500 miles. People continue to sign up, and we’re now at 129 runners, with 94 people having logged at least one run. If you haven’t signed up yet, now’s a good time to get started, since procrastination is one of the major hurdles to completing the Challenge.

The shirt order has gone in and should arrive around the end of June—those racerback tank tops for women were extremely popular. I ordered a few extras of all the styles, so orders can still be placed through the FLRC online store.

Congratulations to our fifth finisher of the Challenge: Paula Klaben! The next people on deck are Lucia Chen and Ian Woods with nine completions each, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Tristan Lambert or Ruth Sproul, each with eight, claim their medals sooner.

You posted some great photos again this week, but I was most taken with Gill Haines-Sharp’s impressionistic view from Lakefront Loops during this morning’s rainstorm and Caitlin and Jamie Loehr actually swinging at Piglet’s Corner. Also, be sure to heed Caitlin’s warning about the Beebe Lake geese on Fall Creek Trails—they’re unamused by anyone who comes too close to their goslings. Speaking of trail animals, note that the trail steward of the Mulholland Wildflower Preserve has asked us to keep dogs on leash there.

There’s no group run this weekend because the Thom B. Trail Runs will have 100-plus runners cavorting through the Hammond Hill trails on Saturday. I’ll see some of you there.

Until next week, keep covering the ground!
