We have a special group run this weekend. On Saturday, 6/21, we’ll be tackling the 4.3-mile Cayuga Cliffs course at the Sims-Jennings Preserve in Lansing before repairing to the nearby home of Rebecca and Tristan Lambert (6 Fiddlers Green) for a post-run party with bagels, fruit, coffee, and any snacks you want to contribute. Since it’s looking like a hot day, there will be swimming in Cayuga Lake! Bring a swimsuit and towel if you’d like to cool off before socializing.
The course itself is a mixture of fields and hilly trails. Reports indicate that it has dried out significantly, but the field remains fairly overgrown. With luck, the Finger Lakes Land Trust will mow this week; they’re aware of the problem, but it has been too wet to mow so far.
Check the course page for a Google Map pin and RunGo directions, which are easiest to set up at home. We’ll meet at 8:30 AM and aim to start at 8:45 AM. There will be people at various paces, and if you need a ride or have any questions, just reply to this post.
Neither FLRC membership nor FLRC Challenge participation is required, and everyone is welcome, regardless of pace, age, or bagel flavor preference. If you haven’t yet signed up for the FLRC Challenge, please sign the FLRC 2025 Training Programs waiver. You only need to sign once for all 2025 group runs, so if you’ve already done so, you’re all set—check here.)
Here we are at last year’s ~4-mile Challenge course at Lindsay-Parsons.
