FLRC Challenge group run Sunday, 7/13 at 8:30 AM at Danby State Forest (Abbott Ascent)

Heads-up! We have a new calendar on the FLRC home page that lists upcoming FLRC group runs, workouts, and races, plus community-submitted races. There are even links available for you to subscribe to it. For those who haven’t already subscribed, here are the details of this week’s group run.

We have cleverly waited until the trails dried out a bit to tackle the 8-mile Abbott Ascent course, so everything should be in good shape for Sunday morning. Check the course page for a Google Map pin and RunGo directions, which are easiest to set up at home. We’ll meet at 8:30 AM and aim to start at 8:45 AM. Yes, there will be watermelon afterward!

Please RSVP below so we can plan snackage quantities. There will be people at various paces, and if you need a ride or have any questions, just reply to this post.

Neither FLRC membership nor FLRC Challenge participation is required, and everyone is welcome, regardless of pace, age, or bagel flavor preference. If you haven’t yet registered for the FLRC Challenge, please sign the FLRC 2025 Training Programs waiver. You only need to sign once for all 2025 group runs, so if you’ve already done so, you’re all set—check here.)

Here we are at last year’s nearly 8-mile Challenge course at Lick Brook.

A great group beat the heat on Abbott Ascent, including Amelia from Australia (in the yellow)!
