Happy Holidays Scavenger Hunt Week 4 begins Thursday, 12/19

Week three of FLRC’s Happy Holidays Scavenger Hunt comes to a close today! Be sure you post your items by the end of the week to get another entry into that mystery prize draw!

Are we ready for Week 4?! From Thursday to Wednesday (12/19–12/25), find as many of these items as you can while out on your walk, run, or hike.

This week’s set of items are as follows -

  • It’s Christmas and it’s Hanukkah! Let’s see those lights you’ve spotted on those dark mornings and evenings! :candle:

  • We’re always dreaming of a white Christmas - the best snow sculpture you can make :snowflake:

  • Ten Lords-a-leaping - your best jumping photo :kangaroo:

  • Eleven pipers piping - or a chimney found on your run 🪈

  • Twelve drummers drumming - or the music, playlist, or a visual interpretation of the sounds that got you through your run! :drum:

Once you find your item, take a selfie or picture and post it on this thread. Remember, for every selfie or picture of one of these items that you post, you get one point. The runner(s) with the most points will be entered into the swag drawing at the end of the event. And, while five might seem to be the high score, I as the omnipotent race director get to award extra points based on particularly creative or artistic photos, or those that get lots of “likes” here on the Forum.

My running playlist, which started as someone else’s Using the gym as therapy. Songs are constantly being rotated on and off. Every time I hear a song I can picture myself running to a song I add it. If it skip it too many times, it gets taken off.

I’ve said before, I’m a minimalist when it comes to decorations & lights too. I like these because they’re simple & elegant

Hah! You can’t make sculptures when it’s less than 20 degrees, but mother nature has kindly made some for us.

My strength workouts for the past 6 months have been exclusively with kettlebells, and I’m starting to work on this double Clean & Push Press. It’s got a itty-bitty jump, which you can hardly see at the bottom of this screen but my feet have left the ground. (This week I could upload the video, but not play it. Oh, well…)

Chimney was easy. My house.

And here’s a partial playlist of what I worked out to today. Broke my heart, it did.

I went for a chilly run last Saturday. When I got home, I asked my husband to take a picture of me jumping. I should have asked my teenager! :joy:

I too enjoy Mother Nature’s sculptures:

The only things I listen to on my runs are the thoughts in my head. And honestly, the time I enjoy most is when those thoughts slip away.

I run during the daylight when the holiday lights are off. So, maybe I cheated by snapping this photo of my tree when it was dark outside.

Here is my late entry for week 4:
Hiked through a candy cane forest in Boise,
Snow almost gone, so a very minimalist sculpture, old Dresser Rand chimney in Painted Post, I prefer nature sounds over music on my runs, especially bird songs
