Train for Skunk Cabbage with Sunday Skunkday group runs starting Feb 8 at 9:00 AM

With the Winter Chill 5K series in the books, our next road race is the Skunk Cabbage Classic 10K and Half Marathon on March 29. Now is the perfect time to prepare by signing up for Skunk and increasing your long runs!

We’re here to help with our traditional Sunday Skunkday group runs aimed at showing you the course and providing amiable company.

Every Sunday from February 8 leading up to race day on March 29, we’ll meet inside the front doors of Barton Hall (facing Teagle Hall, where Skunk starts) at 9:00 AM and be ready to run at 9:15. Barton and its bathrooms are often available; if not, we’ll meet right outside. Check in the Group Runs category for details of each week’s run.

Everyone is welcome, even if you’re not an FLRC member or planning to run Skunk. Regardless, you must sign the FLRC Training Programs waiver once for 2026.

We’ll split into rough pace/distance groups and run out east of the Cornell campus on the Skunk course and nearby roads and trails–people tend to break out into pace groups and distances that match training goals and weather conditions. In addition to the full 10K and half-marathon Skunk courses, there is great running on a wide variety of routes.

There should be plenty of free (on Sunday) parking in the Crescent Lot east of Schoellkopf Stadium or Cornell’s parking garage.

Any questions, just ask. See you on Sunday!
