Zone 2 and Chill - Monday, 10/27

The next biweekly chilled out group run will be Monday night, October 27. Your usual hosts will be out of town, but folks are welcome to meet up at the pavilions by the Children’s Garden at 6:00pm and head out on the inlet trail for a 30-45 minute laid back run. There will still be enough light, but start to think about bringing a head lamp for future get togethers.

The goal of these evenings is simply to get out and get moving with good company and good chat. The inlet trail makes for a great out and back route, with the focus on an easy pace and staying in those low heart rate zones to build a strong aerobic base.

If you are looking to restart or build up your running then this run would make a great opportunity to train using our FLRC Couch To 5K plan!

All paces and people are welcome! This is a free activity and club membership is not required, but please sign the FLRC 2025 Training Programs waiver before your first run this year. You only need to sign the waiver once for all 2025 group runs, so if you’ve already signed it, you’re all set—check here.

Hi Heather:
I thought I saw an email that said there was a group run tomorrow from Hammond Hill at 8:45am. A 5k or 10k option. I sent you an email about this asking if it is a hilly course?
Also, I’m not sure I have a headlamp for Monday evening runs as it’s starting to get dark out. I’m worried about not seeing where I’m running. I probably need to locate a lamp.

Hi Veronica, I did see you comment on the other topic and replied there. Here’s a screenshot of my reply, and it says: these trails are in the woods, buffed out and hilly, but not technical.

All you need for Monday is a cheap headlamp, which can be rechargeable and procured from Walmart or ordered online. I hope this was helpful! Let me know if you have any more questions.
